At Pōneke Bakery, we pride ourselves on crafting delicious, high-quality baked goods that delight our customers. With a focus on innovation and excellent, our wholesale production bakery is experiencing exciting growth, and we’re searching for talented Sous Chefs to be part of this journey. We’re looking for 3x Sous Chefs to join our fast growing team! Full-time hours are available and we will guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week. Shift times vary across the week and you must be able to work at least one day over the weekend. The wage band for this role is $28 - $35 per hour depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: * Support the Head Chef in supervising daily kitchen operations and maintaining workflow efficiency. * Lead the preparation, cooking, and packaging of food, ensuring high standards are consistently met. * Assist in onboarding and training new team members to build a skilled and cohesive kitchen crew. * Step into leadership duties during the Head Chef’s absence to provide clear direction and maintain team momentum. * Manage labour and ingredient costs effectively to ensure the kitchen remains financially viable. * Handle stock ordering and uphold strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations. You will have the following experiences and skills: * At least 3 years experience as a Chef/Baker/Pastry Chef in a commercial or wholesale setting * You will have previous experience leading teams in the kitchen * Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment * Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality * Team player and able to show respect and work collaboratively with other team members * Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed If you’re a dedicated Sous Chef with a passion for excellence and a desire to grow with us, we want to hear from you!
