The king-size mattress and base were custom-made for us by Nelson Beds, I paid $5,500 for it. Unfortunately, the relationship has ended, and the bed is currently based at my ex-partner’s home in PICTON. It was originally a one-piece double-sided mattress with the Pocket Plush Firm mattress on the left and the Renaissance on the right. It has since been split into two separate mattresses in their standard summer/winter side configurations with a zip to join them together. The mattresses have had only about two weeks' use, and they have not been slept on since the split (both the relationship and the mattress!). The mattresses and base are in as-new condition, apart from some hand stitching at the head of each mattress, where I checked the construction (see photos - everything was good). The Renaissance mattress (made for me) would be the firmest in Nelson Beds range of inner sprung mattresses. The Pocket Plus Firm mattress (made for my ex-partner who has some joint issues) feels a lot cushier but is still considered a firm mattress. Both are very nice mattresses and I have slept on a Renaissance mattress for the last two years in my house bus, I loved it so much I ordered another to be my half with my partner in her house in Picton. The base consists of two Roll Away Drawer Bases that velcro together to form one. The nifty under-bed drawers roll out completely on casters to provide easy access to ample under-bed storage. The base, on its own, retails for $1,856. The bed can be viewed in Picton and would need to be picked up from there, or you could organise for shipping at your cost if required. The mattresses and bases are also on the shop floor in Nelson. I am heading to Blenheim for a knee operation on the 18th of September, and could potentially bring it back with me, and I could drop it off on the way, anywhere between Picton and Motueka. I live in a house bus near Tasman village, and have nowhere to store it; otherwise, I would keep the mattress for myself.
