**About the Role** We have an exciting opportunity to join our supportive team as a Barista. This is a **Part Time** postion working **Sunday and Monday 0930-1530.** *In this role you will:* - Provide an excellent food and beverage service in the café for residents, relatives and visitors - Experience making coffee essential - Promote a welcoming and caring atmosphere within the village - Be responsible for crafting delicious beverages, maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the café - Work closely with, and support your colleagues **About You** *To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have:* - Previous experience as a Barista in a busy cafe environment - Outstanding communication and customer service skills with the ability to multitask with coffee making, serving customers and food service - Strong empathy with a friendly and approachable demeanour - A reliable, friendly and professional manner with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Please note that, although we often welcome applications from overseas candidates, due to immigration requirements, we require applicants to have New Zealand work rights for this position. **About Ryman** At Ryman, we believe the measure of a full life is one that gets richer with age. The sensitively restored and renovated building is being transformed into a 5-star boutique hotel featuring 29 guest rooms and complemented by extensive F&B operations which are all due to open February 2025. Steeped in history, this property is iconic and promises to become a popular weekend dining destination with locals; the plush basement bar will have a prohibition era vibe with an extensive cocktail list and the restaurant serves contemporary cuisine, inspired by the local Cambridge food scene, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Original features within the hotel include a magnificent sweeping staircase, stunning stained-glass windows, parquet flooring, high ceilings, and luxurious furnishings creating a refined and relaxed atmosphere. As the Duty Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food and beverage facilities. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily restaurant, bar and conference activities, managing staff, and maintaining the high standards Capstone is known for. Responsibilities: • Overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences. • Monitoring guest reservations • Assisting in menu planning and special promotions. • Handling guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally. • Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service and food quality. • Uphold the restaurant's policies and procedures. • Ensuring a positive and safe working environment for all team members. • Follow and implement the supply of Alcohol Act. • Train all staff in food and beverage service to the Hotels standard. • Responsible for optimising restaurant sales via upselling, coaching and training. Experience: • Prior experience in Food & Beverage. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent administrative skills • Previous experience in a customer service. • Ability to think of your feet and work by yourself. • Current Duty Manager Licence or ability to obtain one.
