We’re now looking for a Café Supervisor for our Rototuna village who shares our love for people, hospitality, and quality service. You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our café. From making great coffee to creating tasty cabinet food and light meals, you’ll help make our café a warm and welcoming place for residents, their families, and visitors. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: - Leading the daily operations of the café and reconciling the daily takings - Training and mentoring a small team - Preparing, presenting, and serving food and drinks to a high standard - Providing outstanding barista services - Assisting with catering for village events and resident functions You’ll work closely with the Chef Manager, and wider village team to deliver a café experience that’s welcoming, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable. This is a permanent role, working five days a week from 8.00am to 4.00pm, with shifts scheduled between Monday and Sunday. The sensitively restored and renovated building is being transformed into a 5-star boutique hotel featuring 29 guest rooms and complemented by extensive F&B operations which are all due to open February 2025. Steeped in history, this property is iconic and promises to become a popular weekend dining destination with locals; the plush basement bar will have a prohibition era vibe with an extensive cocktail list and the restaurant serves contemporary cuisine, inspired by the local Cambridge food scene, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Original features within the hotel include a magnificent sweeping staircase, stunning stained-glass windows, parquet flooring, high ceilings, and luxurious furnishings creating a refined and relaxed atmosphere. As the Duty Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food and beverage facilities. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily restaurant, bar and conference activities, managing staff, and maintaining the high standards Capstone is known for. Responsibilities: • Overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences. • Monitoring guest reservations • Assisting in menu planning and special promotions. • Handling guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and professionally. • Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service and food quality. • Uphold the restaurant's policies and procedures. • Ensuring a positive and safe working environment for all team members. • Follow and implement the supply of Alcohol Act. • Train all staff in food and beverage service to the Hotels standard. • Responsible for optimising restaurant sales via upselling, coaching and training. Experience: • Prior experience in Food & Beverage. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent administrative skills • Previous experience in a customer service. • Ability to think of your feet and work by yourself. • Current Duty Manager Licence or ability to obtain one.
