Silver Fern Farms Waitane is the company's southern most ovine processing site. With 220 staff at peak season, the site processes lamb, sheep and bobby calves sourced from around Southland and Otago. Located just a few minutes south of Gore, Silver Fern Farms Waitane is an integral employer in the area. Our Waitane site, in Gore, is preparing for our 2026 season. We are on the hunt for experienced knifehands with previous industry experience, ideally from time spent in the slaughtering process. Equally, we are happy to hear from you if you have a broad range of knife hand experience, gained from working across other departments. **Te mahi, our working arrangements:** * Complete your on-the-job training and earn a minimum $28.82/hr plus extras. * Usually, 40 hours per week during peak production season, plus overtime opportunities. * Minimum $43/hr production overtime rate. * 8-hour dayshift. About Us: Adept is a leader in Product Development and Manufacturing. Operating for over 50 years specialising in injection moulding producing world class products that adheres to international quality controls and standards. The Role: Located in Central Auckland and walking distance to St Lukes Mall, you will be working as part of our factory team topping up and mixing materials. Each machine creates a different product and would require different mixture of materials. Your attention to detail and ability to keep up with the machines are important. Additionally, you will need to be physically fit and be able to lift up to 25kgs of material. Your role would include: * drying, mixing and preparing materials * cleaning grinders, hopper dryers and hoppers and material handling areas Working hours will be Mon to Fri 11.30pm to 7.45am. This is a fixed night shift role with a requirement to train for 4 weeks in the dayshift at the start of your employment if you are successful. To be successful in this role, you will need to: * Have worked or be able to work a night shift role Mon to Fri 11.30pm to 7.45am * Be physically fit and can lift up to 25kgs of materials * Attain basic math skills to calculate and mix products correctly. Training will be provided to the successful applicant. Only candidates who are already in NZ with a valid work visa with no restrictions will be considered for this role.
