Deliveries are made via a growing fleet of 18 trucks that are maintained to a high standard. Responsibilities and Duties. Daily vehicle safety and mechanical checks. Delivering Concrete to customers’ construction sites. Operating in accordance with the Companies Health and Safety guidelines. To work in a team environment with focus on customer service. To complete paperwork in a timely and concise manner. Have a good work ethic and positive attitude. keeping your truck in a clean and tidy. Experience Required. Applicants must have a clean Class 4 Heavy Vehicle License. Be competent in reversing a heavy vehicle. Good work history. Previous experience in the concrete industry would be a decided advantage. Direct Fats and Oils (DFO) is a nationwide company who collect, and process used cooking fats and oils, to be reused repurposed on a global scale. Giving a waste product new life. Hourly rate - "Negotiable for the right driver " A good portion of the working week is made up of full days driving and competing collections around the lower North Island from DFO's vast array of customers, whom you will communicate with at times- a through and diligent work ethic is required for this. These are at time long days, with a full workload. (Hours can range from 45-60 per week) DFO have a variety of trucks in their fleet, from small flat decks to larger vacuum sucker trucks. Once you've mastered your craft, be your own boss and manage your runs accordingly. DFO are looking for someone who is willing to wear a variety of hats... To better understand the full scope of the job, you will learn and assist in the yard also, which includes processing the product and general upkeep of the site. This can involve heavy labor and getting a bit messy. Someone physically fit is essential. Required: • Full class 4 license • Forklift- F endorsement (preferred, but not essential) • Proven experience in the transport industry • Class 2 & 4 Driver / Operator experience (manual trucks too) • A New Zealand resident, or the legal right to work in NZ • An unwavering commitment to Health & Safety • A can do and positive attitude. We are looking for a class 5 driver to start in August full-time for the upcoming milk season. This is currently a seasonal contract to finish early December on an 8 or 9 axle unit, and likely to include some night driving as the tankers operate 24/7 during this time. We have two positions available to join our team. ***The first role is for a night shift operator for towing and recovery of various sized vehicles, from small passenger vehicles to large trucks and buses. We run a modern fleet of maintained trucks from small slide decks to large heavy recovery trucks. We have an opportunity for another person to join our team around the region Full-Time hours would be a 'On call basis' with a minimum of 30 hours per week between 4pm - 7am Monday to Friday with one rostered on weekend every third week. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so applicants must be available to be on call when rostered on Ideal applicants would need to have: * Experience with medium rigid vehicles * FULL Class 2 minimum * V endorsement required (We are willing to assist in acquiring this) * Basic mechanical knowledge of automotive systems * Availability for weekend and after hours work * Fair fitness as there is some manual labour involved * High energy, efficient, reliable and punctual Towing and recovery is different everyday, you'll never know what to expect from one day to the next. There can be some early starts and late finishes so applicants need to be flexible with start and finish times.
