With our in-house driver trainer to support your development, purpose built facilities, and a small team of motivated and highly experienced team members, this is a chance to work in an environment where you can thrive. Job Overview The Class 2 / 4 Driver role is a vital position in ensuring the smooth operation of our Seaview, Wellington Branch. This role contributes an essential part in the success of the day to day responsibilities within the yard operation and includes ownership of keeping our trucks moving and the stock we are responsible for loaded and delivered in undamaged condition. Please note that this role also involves daily yard responsibilities including loading and unloading trucks when not driving. It is well suited to a team player that is happy helping out in both the yard and out on the road as the demands of the day require. Responsibilities & Duties * Loading and unloading of trucks and containers as required with trucks to be unloaded ASAP. * Carry out any packing, wrapping and/or other protective procedures necessary to ensure that goods are delivered in the same condition as when uplifted. * Uplift, transport and deliver goods as and when instructed within the region. * Pre-departure daily safety checks. * Completion of all company records and logs. * Check the quantity & quality of delivered goods. * Ensure highest quality housekeeping is maintained at all times. * Cleaning of machinery as required including checking of oil and water. * Encourage a “Safety First” approach by ensuring that you understand and adhere to our safety policies, rules and best practices. Skills & Qualifications * New Zealand Drivers Licence – Class 2 (required) & 4 (preferred) * Forklift (F) Endorsement preferred (training can be given) * Dangerous Goods Endorsement with handling experience preferred (training can be given). * Excellent reading and writing skills * Excellent time management skills * Excellent customer service skills Characteristics * High attention to detail * Honest and reliable * Team orientated * Strong work ethic and punctuality You must have the right to work in New Zealand and be highly motivated. Adventure of a lifetime The Chatham Islands lie 750 km to the east of New Zealand's South Island. Moana is one of the biggest employers on the island, which is home to a small community of people, surrounded by pristine waters, that are world renowned for their rock lobster (crayfish), paua (abalone) and blue cod, that are sustainably harvested on these islands. Our Opportunity: We are looking for 1 seasonal Process Worker who is also able to take on truck driver responsibility to start in June and commit to a fixed term assignment until the end of Sept 2025. It is essential you possess a Full & Clean NZ Class 4 driver’s licence. This is a seasonal role to support or peak blue cod and paua seasons on the Chatham Islands. If you would like to gain experience working in fish processing and have a great work ethic, attitude and are reliable we are happy to train you. The role is focused on loading and unloading trucks, transportation of product between facilities and to and to the airport for exporting purposes. In addition, you will processing seafood; grading, packing, cleaning and general labouring works.
