Description

To carry out meal preparation and food service in accordance with the manufacturing. Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality. To carry out food preparation duties including daily preparation of Roti Chanai (Parrota), Naan (Indian Bread), curries, sauces, and snack items (samosa, curry puffs (kachori), murtabaks (parrots parcels with filling). To cook according to the recipe to the right texture, consistency, and taste. And ensuring the quality of the finished product. Regulating the temperature of ovens, grills, and all other cooking equipment. Seasoning food during cooking. Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities. May train other kitchen support staff and apprentices. Monitor kitchen stock levels and complete daily and weekly stock orders as necessary. To undertake daily and weekly cleaning duties to ensure that a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen is always maintained. In accordance with the HACCP standards. To ensure that wastage is kept to a minimum and that all kitchen wastage is recorded. Ensure the kitchen stockroom and pantry are kept tidy and organized, and that daily stock rotation is completed. Wash all utensils used to prepare and cook the food. Ensure the cleanliness of equipment and maintain Health & Safety standards. At the end of the shift, ensure the kitchen is left tidy, clean, and organized. To undertake catering activities for functions as required from time to time. Responsible for upholding the standard of the New Zealand Food Safety Program. Kitchen maintenance - to ensure the cleanliness of all appliances and equipment, and that they are in good, safe working condition. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required for this role.
