JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter & Turners to join our friendly and professional team, ideally with some experience in food machinery (but not essential). This is a full-time, permanent position based in Lower Hutt, Wellington, with a minimum of 40 hours per week guaranteed. The position involves servicing, maintaining, repairing and installing a variety of food machinery equipment in both workshop and client premises. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Disassemble, inspect, refurbish, and reassemble commercial food equipment and mechanical sub-systems. * Identify worn/damaged parts and execute mechanical repairs using lathes, milling machines, grinders, cold saws, etc. * Fabricate or repair parts in-house as needed to reduce downtime and support long-term asset function. * Conduct routine servicing and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on client machinery to ensure reliable performance. * Diagnosing faults and identifying solutions quickly and accurately * Carrying out maintenance and repairs on a wide range of commercial food machinery * Installing and assembling new machinery and equipment as required * Ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and complies with safety regulations * Maintain strong documentation of all repair activities via digital systems.
