What we offer: A minimum of 30hours (guaranteed) and a maximum of 55hours per week. An hourly range of $25-$35 depending on the experience. JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter & Turners to join our friendly and professional team, ideally with some experience in food machinery (but not essential). This is a full-time, permanent position based in Lower Hutt, Wellington, with a minimum of 40 hours per week guaranteed. The position involves servicing, maintaining, repairing and installing a variety of food machinery equipment in both workshop and client premises. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Disassemble, inspect, refurbish, and reassemble commercial food equipment and mechanical sub-systems. * Identify worn/damaged parts and execute mechanical repairs using lathes, milling machines, grinders, cold saws, etc. * Fabricate or repair parts in-house as needed to reduce downtime and support long-term asset function. * Conduct routine servicing and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on client machinery to ensure reliable performance. * Diagnosing faults and identifying solutions quickly and accurately * Carrying out maintenance and repairs on a wide range of commercial food machinery * Installing and assembling new machinery and equipment as required * Ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and complies with safety regulations * Maintain strong documentation of all repair activities via digital systems. I have extensive knowledge, experience, and equipment required to work on all kinds of projects from lightweight to heavy duty in all mediums. I require someone who is competent to follow instruction, problem-solve, and retain information, or work one-on-one to achieve an optimal outcomes. Primarily I am building a 1930 hot rod, a 2009 Mercedes, a 1990 Honda scooter, etc. etc. Recently I’ve been getting interested in joinery/woodwork. I am male, Tetraplegic, who lives in his own home in Hataitai Wellington. My hands have limited function and I use a manual wheelchair, I need somebody who can realise my objectives. I have a 3 year old big beautiful Doberman named Sadie. She's high energy but maturing quickly so experience with dogs is paramount. Not only will you occasionally need to walk and feed her, but make a meal for me too. Ideally the position is Monday to Friday 10.30 am until 6.30 pm, I am open to arranging a schedule that suits the ideal candidate.
