Interviews will start IMMEDIATELY. Due to my PERSONAL CARE being involved, I'm not comfortable having a male carer. I've had quite a few men apply over the past year, which is great and there's a huge need out there, but I'm sorry I just can't do it. I hope you understand. ** CURRENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE ** 1 x TEMPORARY PART-TIME for at least 4 weeks (this would be perfect for someone needing to fill in time while job hunting) • Sundays:- 8am - 11am and 3pm - 6pm (6 hours) SPLIT SHIFT • Mondays:- 8am - 11am and 3pm - 6pm (6 hours), SPLIT SHIFT • Tuedays:- 8am - 11am and 3pm - 6pm (6 hours), SPLIT SHIFT (You may be asked to work a full 10 hour shift or fill-in someone on any day) ALL staff are required to occasionally relieve other staff; even at short notice and on any given day or time and may be asked to include the evening shift, which is 8.30pm -9.30pm a few nights a week and be on call, (during the night), which just means you go to bed with your phone, so I can call for assistance if needed. I need assistance with my personal care, housework, shopping and everyday activities, including all sorts of random sh!t, So flexibility and spontaneity is important. Adequate training will be provided by a Senior Assistant. ABOUT ME AND MINE Firstly, my family and most of my friends are jab free and I prefer to surround myself with like-minded people who aren't falling for the BS and who are questioning EVERYTHING. (If you need a label, then yes I am considered a conspiracy theorist Haha ) I'm a 49yr old woman with a physical disability, living in South Taranaki and I have a 19yr old son. I live my life to the fullest without limitations, where possible. I am spiritual, but not religious and love getting out in nature. I have studied Social Science and I'm an artist. Everything I create is crafted, painted and/or sculpted by mouth, which is whimsical, quirky and/or spiritual. Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/ArtbyMouth.nz Website; http://www.artbymouth.nz I also handrear baby budgies, cockatiels and parrots, which you’ll be assisting me with. Plus, I have other animals; a cat, a dog and currently 2 birds of my own. So, it's essential that you love animals and enjoy doing all kinds of things, WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR Firstly, zero drama, yes things happen and that's life, but it's the irrational and toxic behaviours that I'm talking about. I'm a peaceful soul who is all about the good stuff, so it's important that you are similar in nature and if you're creative in some way, that would be a bonus. You’ll need an open mind and be open to learning new skills and ideas. Be a heart person, not ruled by ego, be reliable, down to earth with a great sense of humour, but who also knows where to draw the line; always treating me with dignity and respect; with a high standard of care and professionalism. Please appreciate the importance of this role. For the right person, this job will be enjoyable, fun, rewarding and probably unlike any other job you've had before; there is never a dull moment here... (as stated by past employees lol) This is an unusual situation, because it's like you actually become an extension of me, I use your arms and legs to do what I need to do. That's why it's so important that we click personality-wise, and that you have a great sense of humour, a good head on your shoulders, have integrity, be authentic with a good heart. That you can get on with your work independently, whilst being mindful that your place of work is, more importantly, our home and safe space. I'm sure you can tell from what I've written, my experience with all walks of life, extends far and wide haha HOW TO APPLY PLEASE DON'T SEND ME YOUR CV!!! INSTEAD, please take the time to write me a personal letter telling me about yourself. I'm interested in you as a person; your personality, hobbies, what's important to you and what makes you you etc.... Don't be shy, you may just be the person we’re looking for :o)
