We are looking for a Restaurant Manager for a busy Indian Restaurant in New Plymouth Employment- Fulltime- Permanent Wages- $30.50 to $32.50/hr Weekly hours: Minimum 30 hrs/week Location: New Plymouth, Taranaki Job responsibilities include: Plan and organise the restaurant's daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and service flow. Develop and implement service standards to enhance customer satisfaction and efficiency Supervise the activities of the kitchen, dining, and service staff to ensure effective operations. Delegate tasks and coordinate with team members to maintain a high standard of service. Monitor customer satisfaction and handle complaints, aiming to create a positive dining experience. Promote and maintain good customer relations to encourage loyalty and repeat business. Recruit, hire, and train new staff, ensuring they understand service standards and health regulations. Assist in planning menus in consultation with chefs, keeping in line with customer preferences and cost requirements. Develop budgets, monitor sales, and control operating expenses to ensure profitability. Manage cash handling, including opening and closing cash registers, and prepare financial reports as required. Organise and promote special events or seasonal promotions to attract customers. Ensure compliance with local food safety, health, and hygiene regulations. We have an opportunity for a dedicated, skilled, and ambitious Maître d' / Restaurant Supervisor. The position, as you know, is multi-faceted. You will need to contribute to: • the physical preparation of the restaurant for daily opening; • maintaining service standards within the FOH team. In order to contribute at this level: • A minimum three years background in restaurant or retail service is essential; • Some experience in leading or supervising others is preferred; • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary; • You will need to be able to handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively; • Demonstrable past experience with cash handling; • Understanding our menus and services offered; • You will need to help manage rosters and stock levels. You will work alongside the restaurant owners to ensure Formaggio’s service standards and reputation are upheld.
