About the role | Ko te kaupapa We have an opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our Parks & Reserves team based in Rolleston. In this role, you’ll play an important part in maintaining the parks and gardens that make the Selwyn District thrive. Working alongside a supportive team, you’ll help keep our community spaces vibrant and inviting. Your responsibilities will include the maintenance of parks and reserves, both on a reactive or scheduled basis, in line with contract specifications. This involves garden care, annual bedding displays (planting and maintenance), vegetation control, horticultural spraying, basic weeding, line trimming, and mulching. NVL is Nelson Tasman’s largest privately owned Landscape Design and Construction company. Due to high levels of scheduled work, we need a Landscape Foreman and Experienced Landscaper to support our Commercial Manager with onsite construction activity and crew management tasks. This is a permanent full time position available for immediate commencement. Key Tasks: • Organise your nominated crew and required onsite resources to complete expected project outcomes as set out daily by the Commercial Manager. • Communicate on-site progress, risks, delays and out of scope requests to the Commercial Manager. • Complete a range of landscape tasks including hard and soft scapes. • Work with NV Design’s Landscape Architect implementing landscape plans to design specifications. • Ensure excellent HS standards on site. • Communicate with Clients about onsite progress and answer any questions they may have. Required Skills and Experience: • Senior landscape construction experience particularly with timber work, paving and machinery use. • A meticulous approach to coordinating project documentation, timesheets, and job costs. • Ability to manage site requirements and risks in a dynamic work environment. • A leadership style that supports your crew to be their best while ensuring project timelines are met.
