We are currently seeking three dedicated and reliable cooks to join our team at a South Indian takeaway restaurant in Christchurch. Key Details: * Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week * Must be available to work as per roster, including weekends and late evenings * Pay range: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour If you are passionate about South Indian cuisine and can work well in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you. Your Responsibilities Will Include: * Overseeing daily food preparation to maintain high standards of quality and consistency * Training and supervising junior kitchen staff as needed * Estimating daily production requirements and checking the quality of raw and cooked items to ensure standards are upheld * Ensuring all food production, preparation, and presentation meets the highest quality standards at all times * Applying knowledge of standard procedures related to food preparation, receiving, storage, and sanitation * Maintaining a thorough understanding of all menu items, recipes, preparation methods, and presentation guidelines * Upholding hygiene and safety protocols, and ensuring proper use of kitchen equipment and utensils * Managing tasks efficiently to meet production deadlines * Regularly inspecting food storage areas for correct storage practices and checking expiry dates * Enforcing strict adherence to health codes and cleanliness standards in the kitchen and storage areas * Ensuring accuracy in plating, including appropriate garnishing, portion sizes, and serving dishes * Complying with all health and safety regulations Requirements: * 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience, or a relevant qualification * Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
