About Us: Jet Construction is a leading small construction firm dedicated to delivering high-quality building solutions for residential construction. We are currently seeking a passionate Apprentice/ newly qualified Builder to join our team and contribute to our project until completed . Position Overview: As an experienced Apprentice Builder, you will work closely with the owner and lead builder and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of construction. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual with a willingness to learn, demonstrated reliability, and a passion for the building trade. Having some of your own tools is a plus, as it reflects your commitment to the craft. Key Responsibilities: - Assist skilled builders in a variety of construction tasks, including framing, drywall installation, roofing, and finishing work. - Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively, following all safety protocols. - Participate in site preparations, including measuring, cutting, and laying materials as directed. - Read and interpret plans and engineers drawings. - Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored. - Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and to a high standard. - Communicate effectively with team members about progress and any issues that arise. - Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations on the job site. Qualifications: - Passion for construction. - Previous experience in construction is necessary. - Basic knowledge of hand tools and some power tools; ownership of personal tools is preferred. - A strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to take initiative. - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. - Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions. - NCEA level 2 or above is preferred. - Valid driver’s license and/ or reliable transportation.
