Considerations: Standard hours are 07:00 to 16:00 Mon to Fri, minimum guaranteed hours of 42.5 per week, with extra hours often available but not guaranteed, hourly rate $30-35 depending on experience Punctuality and reliability is a key requirement for this position Location of the job will be at various residential and commercial sites around the greater Wellington Region Enviro Solutions Ltd is a drug free environment Applicants must be able to meet the following requirements: Must have at least 3 years experience in Carpentry, with a certificate in Carpentry Must have A & B Class Asbestos Removal Training Must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa Clean valid New Zealand drivers licence Site Safe Building Construction passport and any other qualifications are a plus Ability to read and interpret site plans Ability to work in all weather conditions Main tasks Core objectives include: CARPENTER • Understands and applies quality control techniques • Use carpentry tools and equipment, as well as handling carpentry materials • Exercises good interpersonal and communication skills. • Performs incidental work of a trades or non-trades nature to facilitate the completion of the whole task. • Can inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards. • Assists in the provision of on-the-job training. • Exercises good interpersonal communication skills. • Performs work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment. • Apply workplace health and safety requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry • Erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on ground • Carry out general demolition of minor building structures • Install flooring systems, construct wall frames, construct ceiling frames, erect roof trusses • Install and replace windows and doors • Refurbish timber sashes to window frames • Plan and organise work, carry out measurements, calculations, read and interpret plans and specifications • Apply workplace health and safety requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry. ASBESTOS REMOVALIST • The asbestos removalist is to undertake task’s as instructed by the site supervisor in accordance with the ACOP’s This includes: o Loading/unloading plant and equipment to/from asbestos removal sites. o Setting up removal area’s for both A and B class asbestos removal. o Installing decontamination facilities for both A and B class asbestos removal area’s o Removal of both Class A and B asbestos containing material from structure’s or plant. o Wrapping and/or containment of asbestos waste once removed. o Cleaning/decontamination of surface’s, and equipment within the asbestos removal area. • Asbestos removalist’s are to have both A and B Class Removal training and expected to maintain a high level of professionalism on all projects: Removalist’s must work in accordance with the following documents at all times: o Health and Safety at Work (asbestos) Act 2016 o Approved Code of Practice for the Management and Removal of Asbestos o Enviro Solutions provided good practice documentation i.e Safe Operating Procedures and Asbestos Removal Control Plan • Work with asbestos removal equipment • Work with asbestos removal plant • Work with asbestos removal consumable item’s and material Other Duties • Fulfill other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.
