ShareSmythes Engineering is a small but busy rural-based engineering business specialising in heavy transport fabrication, farm equipment repairs, trailer builds, and LT400 certified repairs. We are looking for an experienced fabricator to step into a hands-on leadership role as Workshop Foreman. The right person will work alongside the team while also leading day-to-day operations in the workshop. What we’re looking for: *Solid fabrication and welding experience (heavy transport/agri ideal) *Strong MIG and/or Tig welding skills essential *Experience reading plans, job cards, and running jobs independently *Able to supervise small team, give clear direction and maintain quality *Practical problem-solver who leads by example *LT400 or heavy transport fabrication experience a real bonus *Welding tickets preferred but not essential The Role: *Day-to-day management of workshop jobs and workflow *Hands-on fabrication alongside the team *Working closely with the business owner *Customer interaction when required *Training and developing junior staff *Ensuring quality control and job standards are met We offer: *Steady full-time role in a growing business *Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.00pm (overtime not expected but overtime is available from time to time) *Competitive hourly rate (negotiable depending on experience) *Fuel card provided and/or vehicle *Long-term development opportunities as the business grows *Tight-knit, down-to-earth working environment About us: Smythes Engineering is locally owned and operated, with a loyal customer base in the rural farming and transport sectors.
