We are a small, Christchurch family-owned company going through voluntary changes, which open up expansion opportunities. A retiring long-term company member is creating the opportunity for a new employee to be fully trained in all aspects of manufacturing and applying the products, including sales. We are looking for a practical person who is good with their hands and has a brain to match. The ideal candidate will likely come from a manufacturing or trades background and has either run a business or understands what it takes to make a business successful. The company has operated quietly and profitably for many years, but now the owners are committed to stepping up the business to a higher level of production and efficiency as we move positively to grow the company through increased sales and marketing. Job Description • Manufacturing polyurethane foam sheets in-house to order • Applying polyurethane foam to commercial, agricultural, and industrial projects for clients on their sites Training Intensive, hands-on training from the retiring employee who has been with the company for some 30 years. He is very experienced and knowledgeable. The company directors consider him a “guru” in his field. Qualifications and Experiences • New Zealand driver’s licence • Practical experience from a trade or manufacturing business • Forklift licence – helpful but not essential • Good standard of computer literacy • Maths at a level for competent job costing and quoting • Good verbal and writing skills for communicating with clients Remuneration You will be offered an attractive starting salary during training, and when ready to move into the sole charge position, this will be increased by 10% and then negotiable based on output and sales.
