Civil Carpenter Supervisor – Bridges, Structures & Retaining Walls Location: Canterbury, NZ Type: Full-Time | Competitive Pay + Vehicle Potential An established civil contractor is seeking an experienced Civil Carpenter Leading Hand to lead crews on key infrastructure projects across Canterbury. This is a great opportunity for a motivated leader with either strong civil construction experience or a background as a qualified carpenter ready to step up. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise and coordinate carpentry teams on-site - Interpret and work from construction plans and drawings - Oversee formwork, boxing, concrete pours, and structural elements - Manage project timelines and ensure quality delivery - Lead health & safety compliance and daily site operations - Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors What We’re Looking For: - Proven experience in civil carpentry or trade-qualified carpenters with structural experience - Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings - Strong leadership skills and the ability to run a crew effectively - Solid understanding of formwork systems and concrete structures - A focus on safety, quality, and efficiency on-site - Full NZ driver’s licence (Class 2/WTR a bonus) What’s on Offer: - Top-end hourly rate, based on skills and experience - Vehicle for the right candidate - Long-term, consistent project pipeline across the region - Supportive and professional team environment - Opportunity to work on bridges, retaining walls, civil structures, and more If you’re a capable supervisor or an experienced carpenter ready for a step up, we want to hear from you.
