Description

We are looking for a permanent full-time tractor driver/general to join our team near Tarras, located 20 minutes from Wanaka and 30 minutes to Cromwell. The role will likely be 80% tractor work and 20% stock work. Long Gully Station is a sheep, beef & dairy grazing operation. Duties include: - Cultivation - Feeding out during winter months - Maintaining tractors & implements - Fencing & general maintenance - Stock work when required - dogs optional The successful candidate will be: - able to work part of a team and independently - show initiative - willingness to get stuck in and work as part of a team with a joint goal to achieve high results - have attention to detail - honest & reliable with good time management - good communication skills - previous stock experience preferred but not essential Salary to be negotiated and will be reflective of experience/skill level. Hello! I am looking for a dairy farm worker starting July 2025. The farm is located in Maungatautari, Waikato, NZ. Accommodation is provided. There is only work available for 1 person. Work Hours: * The workload in dairy farming varies a lot depending on the time of year. at the start of calving things are quieter, but by the end we are very busy. * 80 hours a fortnight are guaranteed, with these hours worked over 8 - 9 days. * A typical work day will be 8-10 hours, depending on the time of the year. * At times more work may be available, but this is not guaranteed. * Start times are typically around 5am or later, and finish times are typically around 5.30pm or earlier, with a break of several hours taken at midday. However, if things go wrong on the farm these times can be affected. Requirements: * Dairy farming is hard physical work and previous agricultural experience, or a suitable level of physical fitness would be beneficial. * Dairy farming experience is not required but would be beneficial. * You must be able to ride a 2 wheeled motorbike. * You must have a working holiday visa or be legally entitled to work in new zealand. * Someone who is looking for 4-6 months of work would be optimal. * You must be able to speak basic english * Farming can be isolating: you must be comfortable living alone, away from the city. * It would be a good idea to have your own vehicle so you are not trapped on the farm. Our farm consists of 1700 Ha of rolling and hill country land, and are in the business of producing animal blood serum for microbiology from cattle, horses and goats. We also run an intensive Beef cell grazing operation. This role will consist of constructing and repairing fences and yards, and other farm infrastructure. From time to time, you may be required to help out with general farm duties and water reticulation maintenance.
