Description

About the role - As part of this role, the Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to deliver a high-quality dining experience for customers. As a Cook, you will be expected to perform a variety of tasks to the highest standards, including but not limited to the following: Provide fast and efficient service to minimize wait times for customers. Ensure food preparation and presentation meet the restaurant's established standards and specifications.Maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure continuous kitchen operations. Minimize food wastage through careful planning and portion control. Prepare food in advance where possible, ensuring proper preservation or freezing procedures are followed.Customize food preparation and recipes to accommodate customer preferences and dietary requirements.Identify and address any potential hazards, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. Adhere to hygiene and safety regulations in line with New Zealand health and safety guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and equipment to meet high standards. Report any incidents or concerns promptly to the Manager. Follow standard cooking procedures, seeking approval from the Head Chef for any necessary modifications to recipes or methods. Provide guidance and demonstrate cooking techniques to other team members, as directed by the Head Chef. Undertake additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Supervisor to support the efficient operation of the kitchen.
