Rainbow Humanists Monthly Meeting

At our latest Zoom meeting on 9 October 2025, participants unanimously decided to change the name of the group from "Rainbow Atheists" to "Rainbow Humanists". This was felt important in order to maintain the secular humanist values of the group while also aligning more closely with the majority of LGBT+ Australians who self-identify as having no religion, and promoting positive values accordingly. It was also felt that next year's 60th anniversary of the launch in Australia of gay rights activism by humanists (predating every other known group) was a good opportunity to support and promote ongoing humanist activism and pride in ourqueer history. Our next meeting will be exploring options for celebrating and commemorating the 60th anniversary in 2026, This will include discussing a Mission Statement, website presence and YouTube channel. Ultimately, we will be seeking ways to adopt a more active online presence. All interested MeetUp members are welcome to attend.
