Vitascope Automaton Clock – 1940s – Cream Bakelite – Working

A rare opportunity to buy one of these automaton clocks. Made in The Isle of Man in the 1940's. It's working exactly as it should. The boat, ( the Cutty Sark apparently), gently rocks up and down as the background light changes colour from dawn to dusk. The case came in different colours but the most sought after is this cream colour as it fits in so well with modern decor, and as you can see it's in excellent condition. Not bad for something made of Bakelite and now about 85 years old ! I've become rather attached to it as it's so mesmerising to watch but I seem to have too many clocks....! It'll come with a copy of the original instructions, and a spare bulb for the backlight though they're cheap and available at Mega10 etc. Being Bakelite it'll get packed in a big box but if you live in the Napier, Hastings, or Havelock North area I'll deliver it for free.
