Tasman Tanning South Island Limited is situated on the outskirts of Timaru. The Tannery plant has an ongoing program of continual improvement and investment. The role will initially be on our dayshift roster starting at 6.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday. Once trained, you may be assigned to alternative shifts. The duties will include the daily operation of the drums which include loading and unloading the drums and vessels, loading chemicals and monitoring the processes. You will also be trained in the stringent safety practices involved in the operation of these vessels along with the correct use and wearing of PPE. The expectations will be to comply with and where necessary enforce company policies and practices currently in place and any new policies/practices that are implemented. We undertake pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing. Our ideal candidate should have: • Previous experience working with Chemicals • Current OSH forklift license preferred • Physically fit and able to lift up to 30kg • Have a good understanding of Health & Safety as well as good manufacturing practices • Be able to work to deadlines and work together as a team. • Attention to detail • Good computer skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Must be self motivated and willing to learn. • Tidy housekeeping skills • Have reliable transport • Working at Heights Certificate preferred, training will be provided • Confined Spaces Certificate preferred, but training will be provided If you meet the majority of the requirements above, we would like to hear from you.
