There is plenty of variety in this role from tractor operation (cultivation, drilling), fencing, helping with the potato and/or carrot harvest, using the telehandler, as well as machine maintenance and repairs amongst other general farm duties. About you: • Experience in operating tractors (cultivation and drilling). • Dedicated to working safely and going home safely at the end of each day. • A good work ethic and reliability • Hold a minimum of a full Class 2 licence (or willing to gain class 2 licence). • Willing to get stuck in and be a productive member of our team. Fencer - General Forest Creek Station is 2,000ha sheep, beef and deer breeding/finishing property located in the Rangitata Gorge. We are seeking a Fencer - General to join our team. We envisage, fence repairing & replacement will be the underlying job for the successful applicant as well as other general farm maintenance. During the season, cultivation, crop establishment, feed conservation and weed control will be priority, using modern tractors & machinery. Water reticulation scheme maintenance & improvement are an important part of keeping this farm ticking. During busy times you will be required to help with stock work. We are looking for an honest reliable, person with a good work ethic who can work unsupervised and within a team environment. Due to the nature of the property, good communication and time management skills are essential and flexibility is required. The successful candidate will have: A full driver’s license Previous fencing experience A positive, can-do attitude with a good sense of humour Ability to work alone and in a team. Our Site Maintenance/Production Support position is perfect for someone who is highly versatile and enjoys variety in their week; joining one of our production teams some days when extra hands are needed as well as being responsible for the upkeep of the general Site. Some days will be working with animals (sheep or cattle) working towards daily production targets while following set procedures and protocols. Other days will be working solo on the upkeep of the site; from mowing lawns and grounds keeping, to equipment/vehicle maintenance checks, water blasting and everything in between! To be effective in this role you need: * Self- motivation and initiative * Good communication skills * To be fit and strong and reliable * To have a positive, hardworking, professional, no-nonsense attitude * To enjoy variety in your work and be comfortable working across multiple teams * To hold a current driver’s licence (essential) * Ability to organise and prioritise tasks * To be good at following instructions * A good sense of humour! Experience working with sheep or cattle would be ideal but not essential as full training is provided. We employ 15 full time staff and up to 15 casual tractor and truck drivers through the silage season.
