Job Description: Fabricator Welder Engineer Location: Millers Flat, Central Otago, New Zealand Company: Hawkeswood Mining Limited Reports to Head Mechanic/Maintenance Manager Overview: Hawkeswoods, a family-owned New Zealand company, with 20 years of experience in civil and mining operations throughout New Zealand, has launched the Millers Flat Alluvial Project. This project will employ up to 30 personnel in roles ranging from earth moving and dredge operations to administration, health, safety, and compliance. Based near Millers Flat township in Central Otago, the project is expected to last seven years. Key Responsibilities: * Perform fitting and welding tasks on construction, heavy transport, and mining equipment. * Contribute to the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety. * Maintain a high standard of work, focusing on the usability and efficiency of equipment. * Collaborate with a small team, ensuring effective communication and support. * Ensure all work is performed safely and adheres to Hawkeswood Mining’s policies and procedures. Key Skills/Attributes: * Maintain a positive, forward-thinking attitude, demonstrating passion for your role. * Ability to keep calm and think clearly under pressure. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. * Practical and adaptable mindset. * Makes good judgements with confidence. * Accurate with a great eye for detail. * Good at basic maths. Qualifications and Experience: * Trade experience of minimum three years or level 4 qualification as a Fitter/Fabricator/Welder. * Proven experience working with construction equipment, heavy transport, or mining equipment. * Proven experience of a proactive approach to problem-solving. * Welding certifications would be an advantage.
