





Sanford, a leading provider of seafood in New Zealand, is seeking a Senior Applications Support Lead to join our IT team based in our Auckland head office in stunning Wynyard Quarter. This pivotal role focuses on leading and developing our Applications Support team while ensuring the effective support of our MES and ERP systems. Reporting to the IS Applications Manager, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with leading a small team to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and future system enhancements. Key Responsibilities: * Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of Applications Support Analysts, fostering collaboration and capability growth. * Provide hands-on support for business-critical applications. * Manage and oversee application support tickets using ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceDesk+, Azure devops), ensuring timely resolution within SLAs. * Maintain strong ownership of in-house support processes, reducing reliance on vendors. * Develop and maintain comprehensive support documentation and knowledge sharing practices. * Drive process and system improvements, ensuring scalable and business-aligned solutions. * Actively contribute to system changes, new implementations, and readiness of the support team. * Build effective relationships with key business stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. About You: This role requires a solid background in business applications. We're not looking for someone whose experience is rooted in IT infrastructure support (like Windows, email, or networking), but rather someone who understands how systems can enable and improve business processes. You don't need to have held a formal leadership title, but you should bring the initiative, curiosity, and influence to help shape how we do things and drive positive change to grow the team. Experience with platforms like Microsoft Dynamics 365 is welcomed, but we're particularly interested in people who are adaptable and confident working across a variety of systems - those who can bring a broad perspective and are comfortable stepping beyond any one platform. * Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Information Technology * Experience supporting and improving business applications ideally including ERP and MES * Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing demands and drive continuous improvement * Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with a collaborative and hands-on approach to problem-solving * A mindset for improvement with the ability to identify and reduce non-value-added work and shift focus from reactive support to proactive enhancements * Passion for team development with a desire to help others grow and build capability within the team * Industry experience in manufacturing or food processing is a plus but not essential Why Sanford?
