ABOUT THE ROLE: We have an excellent reputation for fresh, healthy and authentic Thai cuisine made for our customers. Currently, we are seeking for a skilled and enthusiastic Restaurant Duty Manager for our Rotorua restaurant. You will be responsible for the following: * Ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality goods and services * responding to customers' inquiries and complaints about food and service * planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties * interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and resolving staff grievances * instructing staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales procedures * examining food/dishes and deciding on appropriate action with chefs and cooks * taking inventory of goods for sale and ordering new stock * ensuring that dishes and services are correctly priced and displayed * ensuring safety and security procedures are enforced MANDATORY WORK EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of work experience in a similar position, in an à la carte establishment and/or any qualification that demonstrates you have the skills to compelte the tasks as noted in the job description. AVAILABILITY: The suitable applicant must be flexible with working hours which includes weekends, public holidays, days and nights (split shifts) and overtime. SKILLS: As we are one of Rotorua's premier specialist Thai Restaurants, you should ideally know and understand the main cuisines from Thailand including Isaan, Southern Thailand, Lanna and Central Thailand. This is not mandatory, and training on this will be provided. As the duty manager, communication with our chefs will be vital and central to your role. So you will also need to demonstrate how you will communicate with our Specialist Thai Chefs who are from Thailand and do not speak English. QUALIFICATION & CHECKS: You should have or be able to obtain a Manager's Certificate & Licence Controller Qualification as we are a licensed establishment. You will be in charge of cash handling and banking activities, you will need to be able to pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check and Credit Check. What the Role Involves: • 40 hours from mid-October - May. • Seasonal full-time work (October – May), with off-season casual hours and potential for year-round employment. • Operating our vessels for a variety of charters and lake shuttle services. • General vessel maintenance and cleaning. • Welcoming and hosting guests, cooking and serving food, and assisting with other varied duties that help keep a small business running. Experienced Thai Massage Therapists Required: The Studio is looking for qualified and experienced 'Thai Massage' therapists to work in our busy premises in Rotorua, providing an opportunity to work in a friendly atmosphere with supportive management and an amazing Thai Massage and Reception Team. We are Seeking: • Therapists with 3 - 5 years’ experience in Thai Massage and possess valid training certificates in Thai Massage. Experience in Herbal Ball, Hot Stone, Aromatherapy, Tok Sen and other specialty treatments would be an advantage. • While our preference is for therapists that are resident in New Zealand, we will accept applications from suitable therapists that are on current valid work visas or are wishing to work in New Zealand. • All therapists must be able to speak some English, offer massage advice to clients and explain their treatments, very friendly with excellent 'people' skills, a passion for their job and the ability to work in a team environment.
