Landwork Solutions is a locally owned and growing earthworks and landscaping company based on the Kapiti Coast, covering the Lower North Island. We work across residential and commercial projects with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and getting the job done right. With increasing demand and a busy pipeline, we’re now looking for an experienced and motivated Operational Project Leader to take charge of on-site operations and lead our team on the ground. This role is ideal for someone ready to step into a leadership position, take ownership of jobs from start to finish, and become a key part of our long-term growth. You’ll be supported by the business owner, admin team, and a crew of good people who know their stuff. About the Role • Supervise and lead a small team across a variety of earthworks and landscaping projects • Coordinate daily workflow, materials, subcontractors, and site documentation • Hands-on work – trucks, diggers, manual work etc • Act as the on-site point of contact for clients, inspectors, suppliers and other contractors • Ensure jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to a high standard • Take responsibility for health & safety, compliance, and quality control • Mentor junior staff and support the professional development of the crew • Report job progress to the owner and keep documentation up to date What We’re Looking For Essential: • Minimum 5 years’ experience in earthworks, landscaping, or similar field • Proven team leadership or site foreman experience • Full NZ Class 4 driver’s licence • Wheels, Tracks & Rollers certification • Strong communication and people management skills • Organised, detail-focused, and confident running your own sites • Able to problem-solve, think ahead, and take ownership of results • Comfortable with basic site paperwork, vehicle checks, and app-based reporting • Honest, reliable, and clean in your presentation and conduct • Confident in identifying and communicating ideas to further develop the Company • Able to travel and stay short-term in other areas of the North Island as work presents itself (not often) • Must pass a drug and alcohol test Desirable: • Class 5 driver’s licence • Mechanical knowledge • Experience in fencing and retaining • Familiarity with project management and quoting processes • Health & safety qualifications or practical compliance knowledge • Experience with job management software Why Join Landwork Solutions • Be part of a team that values quality, trust, and doing things the right way • Play a key role in a business that’s growing and evolving • Enjoy variety in your day and ownership of your work • Pathway to a higher leadership role as the business expands • Competitive pay based on experience • Support from a hands-on business owner who’s focused on culture and development Apply now with your CV and a brief cover letter – email office@landworksolutions.co.nz For a confidential chat about the role, contact Brad Joines directly on 027 4955693 Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
