We are looking for a positive, proactive person to join our amazing Customer Relationship team, based in Palmerston North but also supporting our Toyota stores in Feilding, Levin, Masterton and Whanganui. What would you be doing? * Managing large amounts of inbound and outbound calls – successful call centre or hospitality experience would be an advantage here, but is not essential, as long as you are willing to learn! * Preparing and distributing WOF & service reminders and communications to customers via their preferred contact method * Processing telephone and online booking requests * Setting up new, and managing existing, customer records; obtaining customer information and maintaining our customer database to the highest standard * Delivering prepared guides to ensure new and repeat service and extra care business * Ensuring sound knowledge of product and service requirements, pricing and time frames to identify needs, provide solutions, respond to questions and identify and overcome objections * Directing requests and unresolved issues to the appropriate department or person * Communicating and coordinating effectively and positively with all other internal departments – this team is a central cog in the machine! As part of the Customer Information Requests team, you will assess customer files and make informed decisions using a risk-based approach to provide the right information. You'll communicate effectively with customers, and other Oranga Tamariki teams and external agencies. You'll also be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and participating in continuous learning and development. Our government client in Palmerston North is on the lookout for confident and capable Customer Service Representatives to join their inbound contact centre team. This is a long-term temporary role from September 2025 to June 2026, with strong potential to extend or develop into something permanent. Whether you've worked in a call centre, hospitality, retail or reception and if you're calm under pressure, great at talking to people, and love delivering excellent service, we want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities: • Answering inbound phone calls from the public. • Providing accurate information and resolving queries where possible. • Logging information into internal systems. • Managing customer interactions with professionalism and care. • Navigating multiple systems and processes in a fast-paced environment. • Escalating more complex issues to the appropriate teams. What You’ll Bring: • Clear and confident communication skills – both written and verbal. • Previous customer service experience (call centre, hospitality, retail or similar). • A calm and empathetic approach, even under pressure. • Tech-savvy and quick to pick up new systems. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask. • Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster. • A positive, reliable and team-focused attitude.
