See you around a coffee

Hello everyone! This is a conversation group for advanced learners or native speakers of French who want to speak the beautiful language of Molière and meet some new people in Wellington. The atmosphere will be relaxed and friendly, and of course full of francophonie :-) The group consists of approximately 50% native speakers and 50% advanced learners. We will meet at Home Cafe in the National Library - don't forget to buy a coffee or something to eat when entering. We will have a small French flag on the table. Normally, we sit at the large tables located at the far end of the cafe. That is, the end farthest from Molesworth Street. Many people who attend the event do not respond to the invitation on Meetup. Therefore, don't be misled by the low number of visible participants on Meetup. We usually have enough people to fill one of the largest tables in the cafe. If you are a learner, what level of French is required? We recommend a B2 level or higher on the CEFR scale. This means you are able to have an informal conversation in French, as you would in a bar or café. Mistakes, hesitations, and simple grammar are not a problem! You will benefit from the group if you can understand most of what native speakers say when they speak at nearly normal speed. The vibe will be casual and friendly and of course abounding in francophonie :-) The group is about 50% native speakers and 50% advanced learners. We’ll meet at Home Cafe in the National Library — don’t forget to purchase a coffee or something to eat when you get in. We'll have a little French flag on the table. Normally, we are at the large tables at the far end of the cafe. I.e. the end furthest from Molesworth Street. Many people who attend don't RSVP here on Meetup. So don't let the low attendee numbers fool you here on Meetup. We usually have enough people to fill one of the biggest tables at the cafe. If you're a learner, what level of French do you need? We recommend B2 or better on the CEFR scale. That means you need to be able to have a casual chat in French, as you would in a bar or cafe. Errors, hesitations and simple grammar are fine! You'll enjoy the group if you can understand most of what native speakers say when they speak at near-normal speed.
