





As a Timber Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining woodworking machinery to cut, shape, and finish timber products according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of timber properties and machinery operations. Key Responsibilities: • Set up and operate woodworking machines such as saws, moulders, planers, routers, and CNC machines. • Read and interpret technical drawings, job orders, or work instructions. • Measure, mark, and prepare timber for machining using precision tools. • Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. • Maintain tools and equipment, performing basic maintenance and reporting any faults. • Adhere to safety protocols and workplace health and safety standards. • Collaborate with other team members in the production process. Skills & Qualifications: • Certificate III in Timber Machining (or equivalent qualification/training). • Proven experience in timber machining or a similar woodworking role. • Strong understanding of woodworking machinery and tools. • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity. • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Commitment to workplace health and safety practices. Desirable: • Forklift licence. • CNC machinery experience. • Knowledge of timber grading and properties of different wood types. Work Environment: • Workshop or factory-based. • May involve noise, dust, and the use of protective equipment. • Physical role involving lifting, standing, and handling timber materials.
