Auckland, New ZealandI have owned this Tesla Model S since new (2014), it came with me when I moved to NZ in 2016 from the UK, hence imported (like all Tesla’s in NZ prior to 2017). It has quite low mileage, works well with surprisingly resilient battery (~90% of new range retained, around 400km is what I get out of it) and has the unusual 7 seat configuration with two seats in the boot (for small people, up to around 150cm). It has been an ideal family car for us. To be honest I had expected it to die by now, but it hasn’t. We have upgraded the infotainment something something (a new ECU unit or something like that) for $3000 from memory a few years back. It has a sunroof (that you will never use, totally pointless, in my opinion). But that’s where the good news end. It has numerous tiny scratches and the wheels have been curbed I don’t know how many times. It makes a whizzing noise when you accelerate. Tesla tells me it’s normal. Please look at photos closely! The main screen (where everything happens on a Tesla) has started to ”cry” a bit. The photo looks worse that it is. Apparently the silicon in it starts to ”drip”. It doesn’t bother me, but if it bothers you, you can either (a) not buy this car (that would be my suggestion) or (b) replace it for something like $1500, which Tesla offered me. I declined. It is surprisingly roomy for those who have only experienced the model 3 or Y. The reserve is low, same as starting bid. Buy now is within the Trade Me suggested range. The below is an extract of what Trade me thought I should write. Conveniently leaving out the scratches, the whizzing noice and the crying screen. The Model S features: - Fully electric drivetrain with good range - Seating for 7 with folding rear seats - Large central touchscreen interface - Front and rear boot space - Over-the-air software updates The electric motor gives quick acceleration, while it sits low to the ground so it handles well on the road. The 2014 model has received many software updates over time, keeping its features current.
