Beautiful vintage “C.T.SKELTON AND CO, SHEFFIELD, MADE IN ENGLAND. 1” stamped Kent pattern axe/ hatchet Approx measurements: Blade: 90mm Butt to blade: 155mm Handle: 340mm Weight: 600grams Excellent condition, beautiful dark patina. Nice even stamps. This is a beautiful addition to any axe or vintage tool collection. I have re fitted the original handle and if you wish to use this axe is is also ready to swing handle is tight and blade is sharp. A Very tidy example of this pattern axe, a smaller butt end makes it almost start to resemble a shipwrights pattern. Has a very small amount of mushrooming but apart from that it is near mint. *this is the first time this axe will be sold in Nz marketplace, as is the case with 99% of my axes. have gathered most from the uk and USA over the past 15 years. I will be letting go of quite a large percentage of my axe and hatchet collection here on trade me, all types of patterns and origins and quality's (from mint to Rusty).
