As an Intermediate Machinist, you’ll be an integral part of our team of experienced tradespeople and will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers are consistently delighted when we work with them. About the Role As a Manual Machinist, you need to have the following competencies and skills: • Operate and maintain manual lathes and milling machines to produce high-quality components • Work from engineering drawings to meet tight tolerances • Communicate and collaborate to solve engineering problems and delight customers • Ensure safety and quality standards are upheld at all times Company Profile Established in 1992, Mason Tool & Engineering has been delivering high-quality precision engineering services across Auckland for over three decades. What We’re Looking For As a Manual Machinist, you need to have the following competencies and skills: • Trade qualification in mechanical engineering (e.g. Fitter Turner or equivalent) • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manual machining role. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with precision • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality • A proactive attitude and good communication skills The following skills would also be an advantage. • Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems (e.g. Fusion 360, Mastercam, SolidWorks) • Solid understanding of CNC lathes and milling machines • Light engineering fabrication and assembly. Welding proficiency (MIG, TIG, Arc), sheet metal fabrication, use of fabrication tools, and material knowledge.
