Given the current workload we are seeking a further experienced Alarm Technician. The Role Are you ready for a role that keeps you on your toes and builds diverse expertise? We're looking for a motivated technician to join our team, taking on the essential service and compliance of Fire Alarms while expanding into areas like Fire Extinguishers, Sprinkler Testing, and Diesel Engines. You will be working on a variety of sites, some very unique to the area. There will be fault finding and repairing, remedial works and some installation when required. You will be part of the on-call team providing a 24/7 service across the region. Familiarity with NZ Standards 4512 and the Building Act is an absolute essential for this role. An electrical qualification could be an advantage; however fire alarm experience is the priority. Familiarity with alarm systems such as Pertronic and Ampac is a must. This role is based in our Palmerston North office and will cover the greater Manawatu-Whanganui region. For all this role it is not just about your technical skills; it is how you deliver them. $30-$35 per hour based on your skills and experience. To be successful in this position, you will have: • 3 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm Technician • Knowledge of NZS 4512 and the Building Act/Code to support compliance in fire alarm and building systems • Ideally you will be working towards your NZQA • Great customer service and communication skills • A clean, full NZ driver and criminal history record Assistance with relocation costs will be considered for the right applicant if you live out of Palmerston North but are willing to move here and take advantage of a better lifestyle. You will also: * Have a valid and current full drivers license. * Strong IT skills using Microsoft Office suite. * Satisfactory level of fitness for accessing field monitoring points and a willingness to be able to work outdoors in varied conditions. * Ability to safely drive a 4WD under site conditions. * Tertiary qualifications in Applied Sciences or equivalent science discipline highly desirable.
