NC Equipment in Palmerston North ( Formally Mech Agriculture ) is looking for a versatile agricultural machinery engineer who has the skills & can-do attitude to work on just about anything! Or a person that perhaps doesn’t have all the above experience but has a strong mechanical aptitude with preferably some exposure to the Ag industry & has what it takes to learn it all from our best in the field. NCE is a family-owned and operated business founded in 1965 and is a leading provider of farm and agricultural machinery to the New Zealand market. We require a technician with engineering or mechanical skills to be part of our small but efficient team. This role could also ideally suit a young applicant who is already very mechanical with some prior workshop experience and wanting to forge a career in this industry. The role will be carrying out servicing & repair solutions both in the workshop and out in the field. This will at times require an element of ‘thinking outside the square’ and using clever ingenuity. In this role you will carry out all servicing and maintenance to a large range of agricultural implements. Providing assembly, service and repair support to our major brands such as Maxam hay mowers, Hustler feed out equipment & our own imported Caffini Sprayers & Agrisem cultivation equipment. The ideal applicant will have a passion for learning and is keen to tackle anything.  What we are looking for; Very good general engineering skills with a strong mechanical aptitude with previous experience of machinery repair Or an extremely practical person with a strong mechanical aptitude & a keen desire to learn Someone who is self-driven and takes pride in delivering high quality workmanship Self-organized and efficient repair technician Hydraulic & Electrical experience are a major advantage Class 2 H.T license and Forklift licenses are an advantage. You will also: * Have a valid and current full drivers license. * Strong IT skills using Microsoft Office suite. * Satisfactory level of fitness for accessing field monitoring points and a willingness to be able to work outdoors in varied conditions. * Ability to safely drive a 4WD under site conditions. * Tertiary qualifications in Applied Sciences or equivalent science discipline highly desirable.
