You'll learn a great deal about the industry from us, yet you'll also teach us a thing or two... so you've got to have heart, you've got to have passion, you've got to want to grow ... and you've got to want to help others do the same… To be suitable for this role, you will require proven experience as a fitter turner/machinist with a minimum of 5 years experience. Other people will describe you as someone who is self-motivated. You’ll also have excellent work ethics and a top attitude. Dependent on your skills and abilities, we are offering wage rates from $35 to $45 per hour. Overtime rates also apply. We guarantee a minimum of 40 hours per week. JOB TITLE • Fitter Turner/Machinist PURPOSE • To carry out machining and fittings works relating to the specialised boiler manufacturing and servicing works we undertake for our industrial clients throughout New Zealand. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Fitting • Machining • Turning • Milling • Grinding • Fitting • Mechanical works • Valve and pump servicing • Pressure testing • Quality assurance • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits. • Provide excellent customer service. • Ensure the workshop and work sites areas are kept clean and tidy at all times. • All equipment, tools and plant are to be respected and treated with care, this includes when transporting to and from site. • Undertake typical engineering tasks in accordance with ability. • Assist other workmates in completing tasks. GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Be punctual and work the hours and times specified. • Prioritise workload to ensure work of the greatest importance to the business is undertaken with urgency and to a high standard. • Support and help develop a positive workplace culture. • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills. • Responsibly manage all business resources within accountability levels. • Undertake all duties and responsibilities outlined in this Job Description and all other duties as required by the business. • Comply with all employment obligations. • Promptly undertake to complete all reasonable and lawful instructions and directions given. • Serve the business in good faith, promoting and protecting the business' best interests. • During work time, and such other times as may be reasonably required, dedicate all effort to the execution and fulfilment of the duties, responsibilities, obligations and instructions related to employment. • Demonstrate through own actions a commitment to Health and Safety at work when undertaking work or observing others in the workplace.
