





Part time, 32 hours per week $23.50 - $29.10 per hour New Lynn Very High Needs(VHN) is a community based service focused on community inclusion, personal development and socially valued roles. Each person is in control of their lives and have flexible support that are tailored to their needs and goals. Our staff support people live an everyday life in everyday places and provide 1:1 support to access mainstream activities in their local communities such as going to concerts and watching rugby games. This role is largely comprised of casual hours and we have opportunities available Auckland-wide. In partnership with families, our VHN staff will help people towards achieving their goals. This can include supporting them with: * Accessing mainstream services in the community e.g. joining local clubs and teams, attending community/cultural events * Independent living and social skills, e.g. handling money, learning to catch public transport, looking for volunteer roles, and making friends * Educational goals, e.g. looking for suitable courses in the local community, assisting to enrol classes If you're interested in helping people to achieve their goals, increase their independence and engage with their communities, then we want to hear from you today! The ideal candidate will have: * A Full Driver's Licence * Experience supporting people with disabilities and/or challenging behaviours * Strong communication and commitment to building long lasting, reliable relationships with the people you support and their families * Sufficient fitness for an active role that may involve sports and recreational activities * The ability to use technology effectively to communicate with the team, and to help the people we support connect with their communities and interests If you are a non-resident applying for this role you must meet the following INZ Level 3 skill requirements to be considered: * Have worked in the care workforce for 3 years or more, and been paid at least the care workforce wage rate during that time or * a relevant qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) — this must be at least a level 4 qualification for a role at skill level 3, or a diploma for a role at skill level 2.
