This position requires you to be based in Nelson and also be available to do traveling around our region when required. To be able to apply for this job you have to meet the following minimum requirements : • Proven field experience installing testing Fire Protection Systems in NZ under the industry known Performance Standards. Otherwise proven experience in other electrical industries • Have the ability to interpret, electrical specification reports and manufacturer’s manuals. • Have a valid NZ Work Visa and full NZ driver license. • To be able to pass a NZ Police Vetting check. • To be able to join an on call roster. Core objectives of the position include: • Carry out whatever reasonable tasks are asked of you by your supervisors • Test, repair, installation, replace and service fire alarm systems • Responding to fire alarm panel activations to determine the source of the fire, whether it be smoke, heat, manual activation or a malfunctioning system • Maintaining records of fire alarm system activity and other fire safety measures in residential and commercial buildings • Be on call as per the on call roster • Identify and return to the office any faulty material • Take care of all machinery, tools and vehicles placed in your care and to have them serviced when required • Fill out timesheets with accuracy • Present yourself and the company in the best possible light • Identify and report any variations to the designed work • Implement and follow on-site health and safety procedures Additional requirements: * NZQA testing Fire Protection Systems Systems Level 3 qualified preferably We are offering you in return: * Permanent and full time position in our company. * Further opportunities of professional growth within our company and in the fire protection and building compliance industry. * Weekly payments based on the hours worked on site. * Minimum 40 hours of work per week guaranteed by the company. * Time and a half for over 40hrs worked within the week's period. * Travel allowance provided by the company when working out of town. * Assistance towards NZQA industry qualifications and other professional certifications.
