Job Description – Equestrian Vaulting Instructor JOB TITLE: Equestrian Vaulting Instructor JOB TYPE: Full time, permanent – 30 hours per week minimum, 35 hours per week maximum LOCATION: Kapiti Equestrian and Vaulting Centre, 13B Nimmo Avenue West, Waikanae. SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Head Vaulting Instructor MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver equestrian vaulting instruction to children and young adults Plan and direct equestrian vaulting training sessions Recruit participants to the equestrian vaulting programme Officiate as a judge at local club equestrian vaulting competitions Analyze and assess vaulting performances to support equestrian vaulting development Support, motivate and encourage participants in the “vaulting for therapy” programme SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Qualifications: A level 4 equine studies qualification may be an advantage, but is not required – however, experience in equestrian vaulting is necessary Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in equestrian vaulting is required, ideally including participation in international competitions Skills: Advanced knowledge of equestrian vaulting techniques Advanced equestrian knowledge Excellent verbal and written communication PERFORMANCE GOALS: Attend vaulting training on time and with all necessary preparations in advance Ensure vaulting participants are engaged in vaulting safely Communicate with vaulting participants and their families in a friendly and polite manner Job Advertisement: The Kapiti Equestrian and Vaulting Centre in Waikanae is growing, and we are looking for a committed, passionate and hardworking individual to join our coaching team as an Equestrian Vaulting Instructor. As an equestrian vaulting instructor, you will be primarily involved in delivering equestrian vaulting training sessions to children and young adults. You will be positive, upbeat and encouraging, as you plan and direct training sessions across all age groups for our equestrian vaulting teams. You may be required to officiate as a judge at local equestrian vaulting competitions, as you share with us knowledge from your international vaulting experience. In addition to competitive vaulting, you will be supporting, motivating and encouraging our participants in the “vaulting for therapy” programme. We have a full time, permanent job on offer, with a minimum of 30 hours per week and a maximum of 35 hours per week. These hours will be worked between 7am – 7pm, Monday – Sunday, on agreement with the successful applicant. Our successful applicant will be required to have three years of relevant work experience in equestrian vaulting. A level 4 equine studies qualification and/or experience in international vaulting competition is an advantage but not essential. Other Duties to support operations at Kapiti Vaulting Club as directed by your manager. The pay range for the successful applicant will be between $23.50 - $25.00 per hour.
