Our client is a leading engineering firm that is locally owned and operated, and they need a skilled and experienced Welder-Fabricator to fill this role. Stellar Recruitment is looking for a motivated and suitably experienced person to work for this fantastic company. About the role: • Working in a leading supportive and reputable business • Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week and overtime hours as required • $28 - $32 per hour What you need to be successful in this role: • You must have at least 3 years of relevant metal fabrication and welding work experience. • You must be physically fit and a good leader and team player • You will need a forklift licence • You will need welding certifications (overhead and vertical up welding) and gantry crane certification • Managing risks and ensuring full compliance with all Health and Safety regulations • You will have a flexible approach to working overtime including weekends when required Key tasks and responsibilities: • Mark out and cut job to specifications • Check pre-cut materials for accuracy and ensuring all requirements for holes, welds and tacking are met • Operating power tools, pressures and machinery • Operating gantry crane as required • Using appropriate tools and techniques to produce high quality products • Working in a clean and tidy manner, checking for quality. Conveyor Belt Service Technician

The responsibility of the Service Technician is the installation and repair of conveyor belts and conveyor systems at mine and job sites. Applied Conveyor has 2 vacancies in their belting and rubber lining teams in their Palmerston North branch, also known as Flexitech. • Ability to perform physical manual labour, in the outdoors, heavy industry, construction or mining environment. • Mechanical aptitude – competence in the use of conveyor belt working tools and equipment. • Skilled to perform conveyor belt splicing; requires knowledge of belts and related equipment to perform the splice. • lap splice, finger splice, and cable belt splice • refurbishment skills • basic rigging, lifting and slinging • pulley lagging including ceramic, poly and rubber lagging • Promote safety by working adhering to company safety guidelines; which includes but is not limited to the proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials and use of personal protective gear. • Know, understand and capable of utilizing emergency response protocol. • Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and work independently and in a team environment. • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, in a clear, effective and professional manner. • Document job-site work as required; materials, labor and other costs used on jobs. • Minimum three -five years Experience in conveyor belt repair and maintenance • Experience in the construction, mining, power plant industry, preferred • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment (face-shield, gloves etc.) Ability to work in confined spaces
