About the role  We’re looking for an experienced and confident working leader to step into the role of Wastewater / Stormwater Maintenance Coordinator within the Three Waters Maintenance and Construction team. This is not an office-based or behind-the-scenes role – it's a foreman-style position where you’ll be out on site, leading by example. You’ll guide a dedicated team, oversee the delivery of reactive and programmed works, and play a key part in maintaining and improving Palmerston North’s essential wastewater and stormwater networks. In this role, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and hands-on delivery of stormwater and wastewater operations across the city. You’ll also liaise closely with engineers, planners, and contractors, contribute to site safety and reporting, and step in to lead complex or technically demanding work yourself. This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional after-hours work may be required in the event of urgent repairs or civil defence response. You will be: * Leading a team of field staff, plus contractors and subcontractors as required. * Planning, organising, and supervising scheduled and emergency works. * Interpreting plans, managing resources, ordering materials, and ensuring quality. * Maintaining accurate site records and contributing to monthly reporting. * Assisting with training and mentoring of staff and supporting a positive team culture. * Working alongside your crew when needed to complete challenging or specialised tasks. * Taking the lead on implementing safe work practices and ensuring site compliance. About you You are a skilled infrastructure professional who’s ready to take the next step into leadership - or already leading from the front and ready for more formal responsibility.
