Banjo - Custom Long-Neck 5-String Clawhammer/Frailing Banjo Original banjo was handmade in Appalachia. It was modified 30 years ago by Canadian luthier, Tom Dorward, who replaced the calfskin drum with a Remo Fibreskyn and built and installed a custom long-neck. The long-neck banjo was made popular by Pete Seeger. The addition of three frets allows accompaniment for a wider vocal range. This particular banjo has a rosewood fingerboard, a fifth-string capo and a truss rod built into the reinforced neck. It's a great clawhammer/frailing banjo. As you might expect with an instrument of this vintage, there is some minor surface wear on the drum and some lacquer wear; none of which affects its performance. Overall - a fine instrument - and a one-off. Comes with a case and additional strings.
