Essential requirements • Proven willingness to learn new skills • Attention to detail • Having can-do attitude • Willingness to follow instructions • Having at least two years of relevant experience or level 4 qualification. Candidates are required to meet one of these requirements not both. Tasks • determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers • measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning plasterboard, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens • preparing corner beads and securing them in position • fixing plaster and paper cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings • covering joints and screw fixings with wet plaster and sealing compounds, and smoothing them using wet brushes and sandpaper • mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness • plumbing and straightening corners, angles and wall and ceiling surfaces • creating decorative textures in finishing coats • Painting residential properties using brush, roll and spray • Applying and pealing wallpapers • plastering inside, gib fitting • Following plan for a renovation • Erecting and dismantling temporary scaffolding (under 5 meters in height) • Removing and installing doors, handles, curtains and other hardware • Other adhoc duties depending on experience and skills Benefits • Full-time employment (minimum 30 hours per week) • Minimum wage $26/hour • Maximum wage $30/hour • Promotional opportunities for the right candidates How to apply Apply via Trademe.
