Through trusted relationships and world leading insight we work closely with our customers to design, build and sustain assets, infrastructure, and facilities. **Ōtaki to North of Levin Project** The Ōtaki to north of Levin (Ō2NL) highway will dramatically improve safety, resilience, and efficiency, as well as increasing transport choices for the area's growing population. The Ō2NL project is led in Partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga and council partner Horowhenua District Council. This transformative project is being delivered using a two-alliance approach, with each alliance delivering a section of the road and associated works. Together alliance partners are working to create a positive legacy for the region, led by our project principles to tread lightly with the whenua and create an enduring legacy. Our scope is from Ōtaki through to South of the Ohau river. **Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity** With preparations for Ō2NL's first Summer season underway, we are now seeking expressions of interest from experienced heavy machine operators. We are looking for competent operators to support a range of activities including: * Site establishment and compound setup * Construction of hardstands and crane pads for underpasses * Carting and placing materials * Road subgrade construction (RSC) * General earthworks and support tasks You will be operating a variety of heavy machinery such as: * Excavators * Telehandlers * Rollers * Watercarts * Graders You'll also be expected to assist with physical labour tasks as required to support the team and project delivery **Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills** We're looking for skilled and committed operators who take pride in their work and understand the importance of contributing to a project that will leave a lasting legacy for the region. You'll be part of a team that values safety, collaboration, and excellence, and you'll bring the right attitude, experience, and capability to match. To be successful in this role, you will bring: * A minimum Class 4 Licence and Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsement * Proven experience operating Trimble GPS systems for precision earthworks * Drainage and landscaping experience, with an eye for detail and finish * Capability to operate a range of excavators, adapting to different site needs * Experience building crane pads and working around structures teams (desirable) * A strong commitment to safe work practices and Zero Harm principles * Reliability, a solid work ethic, and a willingness to support your team * Physical fitness and a positive attitude toward working outdoors in all conditions We're seeking people who are not just machine operators, but professionals who understand the impact of their work and are ready to contribute to something bigger than themselves.
