





**Laboratory Technician – Nutrition Laboratory** Are you an experienced Lab Tech looking to apply your skills in a fast-paced, accredited environment? Massey University’s Nutrition Laboratory is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Laboratory Technician to join our team! **About this position:** The Nutrition Laboratory is an IANZ accredited independent testing laboratory servicing Massey University’s research and student projects as well as external commercial clients in the Food and Feed industries. This role is central to delivering high-quality routine laboratory analyses for both university-led research and commercial clients in the food and feed industries. Working largely independently but alongside a dedicated team, you will be responsible for performing accurate analytical testing, supporting accreditation protocols (ISO 17025), and contributing to a culture of safety, professionalism, and excellence. This is a full-time (37.5h p/w) ongoing position based at our Manawatū campus in Palmerston North. **Key Responsibilities:** * Perform routine nutrition analyses and laboratory techniques * Maintain and calibrate equipment in line with IANZ and MPI standards * Prioritise tasks to meet deadlines in a high-throughput environment * Adhere to strict quality, safety, and documentation systems * Collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and clients **About You:** * Diploma in Science, Bachelor of Science, or similar qualification * Proven laboratory experience with strong technical skills (e.g., pipetting, balances, calculations) * Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills * Strong computer literacy including Excel * Experience with nutritional analysis techniques (preferred) * Familiarity with GC/HPLC instrumentation and calibration (advantageous) **Why Massey?** Massey University is a Tiriti-led institution committed to research excellence and meaningful collaboration with industry and community.
