As the Site Engineer, your primary responsibility will be on-site monitoring and support of construction activities, ensuring all works meet quality, health & safety, and environmental standards. You will work closely with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to oversee project methodology, financial tracking, procurement, and subcontractor management. This role is crucial in supporting the evolving design responsibilities within our national hub and adapting to the upcoming IDC contract changes Key Responsibilities: * Monitor and manage construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety policies, and environmental plans * Assist in planning, tendering, producing project methodologies, budgets, and schedules aligned with project outcomes. * Manage procurement activities including ordering materials, tracking deliveries, and ensuring timely availability to avoid work delays. * Coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including designers, delivery teams, asset managers, and client representatives. * Participating in programme handovers, scoping, and design reviews to confirm treatment selections. * Supporting Zero Harm culture, ensuring safety, sustainability, and compliance at all times. **Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills** This role is highly collaborative, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships. To be successful in this role, you will bring: * Tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) * Practical construction experience with a strong understanding of site engineering principles * Excellent communication and teamwork skills to engage with diverse stakeholders * Strong organisations skills and attention to details in managing financial tracking, quality control, and documentation * Strong ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders and colleagues **Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation** Want to know more about what it is like to work at Downer?
