Board games for Neurotic Manchildren

Are you sick of adulting and being a functioning member of the society? + If yes this event is for you. Why do I host this event? + For high masking social misfits practicing unmasking and finding their true voice. + So I don’t have to explain I have Autism and ADHD and what does that mean every time. What does that mean? + I have hidden disabilities. I got stressed out in chaotic environment and group settings. Once I got stressed out I can’t read I have auditory processing issues, sensory issues, etc. + For example, my brain can’t filter out the background noise. There was one time when I was an intern for a makerspace, my colleague brought me to a nightclub, music so loud, people talk into each other’s ears, no matter how much I try I can’t hear what people are saying and it’s not English it’s my mother tongue. + Keeping a conversation in a noisy environment is very taxing for me, I hear everything in the background and have to deliberately picking the things I need constantly. That’s why group setting is very challenging. Trying not to miss anything and end up missing something and upsetting people. There’s nothing wrong with me. I’m not supposed to try this hard. What can you expect from this event? + Low performance competitive gaming. What if the host didn’t show up? + I think this event can run automatically as long as we can identify each other. I chose Saturday cuz Dice & Fork run a game meetup event every Saturday. That one is basically bunch of people play on a long table first then split into small groups. So if no one shows up, just join the long table. How do we identify each other? + I’m a short asian non-binary woman who always wears black choker, black suspender, black leather fingerless gloves and He-man bob haircut, makes you wonder if this person engages in BDSM. You can always find me if I’m there. I will sit at the long table first studying some board games, if no one shows up, I will join the Saturday group. + In rare case if I’m not there, fidget toys or chupa chups whatever works as long as people can tell you are a neurotic manchild. Pls someone pls join my group. Btw I prefer mystery / adventure / crime / funny / weird type board games.
