Attacking with 8 checkers is weak. Attacking with 10 checkers is strong. If your opponent has a lot of checkers in the zone, the idea is to slip through and escape to an area where they have fewer checkers. When you roll a 6/2 in the opening the best play is 24/18 13/11. However, if your opponent has stacks on their 6, 8 and 13 points the play is to go through to their 16 point, avoiding the tickness of their checkers.
