The Home of St Barnabas Trust a 41-bed rest home providing quality accommodation ensuring the overall health of our residents. We are a family and each resident and staff member belong to the Whanau of St Barnabas. We support the wider elderly community by providing our Meals on Wheels Service of hot meals delivered directly to our clients door. We are seeking a motivated and organized Finance Officer to join our management team. The position offers up to 40 hours per week which may be flexible to allow for good work-life balance. Position Objectives - To present financial reports in a manner that is acceptable to the Board of Trustees and Management, based on current financial accounting principles - All requirements from the independent financial audit and Charities Commission are met - Internal oversight of budgets and financial transactions is maintained and support to budget holders is provided as required - Oversight of Human Resources Management and administration Beneficial skills for this role include - Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills - Knowledge of the aged care sector is desirable - Sound financial acumen and a high level of attention to detail - Excellent knowledge of and skills with IT systems - in particular MYOB, Xero and the Microsoft software package - Ability to plan, manage and complete projects - High energy level, drive and enthusiasm - Problem solving attitude - An appropriate tertiary qualification is desirable - An accounting background is essential Applicants for this position must have NZ Residency or a valid NZ work visa.
